Toxic Yuri VN Jam 2
Hi everyone!!
Over the past month, myself and some friends have been working on a visual novel for Toxic Yuri VN Jam. We got it submitted last night and it's now free to play! I hope everyone enjoys it! ^_^
Toxic Shock Syndrome
toxic shock syndrome
noun
a serious condition, with high fever, diarrhea, and reddish marks on the skin, caused by infection with bacteria as a result of wounds or the use of tampons or certain contraceptives.
Emma's sister Béibhinn is moving on with her life; onto bigger and better things as far away from Ireland as possible.
Sunny Australia, of all places.
Emma is still here.
How could she leave? Someone has to look after their mother.
It's all the same anyway. Wherever you go, people are people.
But when she's in her room,
all by herself,
Emma looks out her window.
From there she has a view you couldn't get anywhere else on this Earth.

I worked as sprite artist and colourist on this project! I really enjoyed working with my team, everyone was absolutely locked in. I did a lot of group project work in uni when studying animation and always hated it but now I know how beautiful it can be... My team was amazing. The vn is 18+ only - it has H-scenes! Please enjoy if you play it! It is free to download on itch!
Here's a bit of the character design artwork I did for the game!
I've also played a couple of entries from the jam! Here are some of my personal recommendations.
DOUBLE🥚YOLK
One of my absolute favourite entries, and not just saying that because my friend made it! I really love the portrayal of complicated all-girls school friendship dynamics and bullying. The artwork is also just amazing. Everything is traditionally drawn or collage. Music choices are great too.
helleborine
This one was great. Loved the art work, and all the twists and turns in the story are so good, I could never tell where it was going! The ending was perfect.
two kinds of people
Loved this one. The visuals created a a really great, unsettling atmosphere. And I loved how it was written, too! Especially loved the parts that were written from the POV of the apartment itself. I always really like when a building or place itself is a character in a story. That's all for now! If I have any more recommendations, I'll be sure to update this!
